On October 10, 1911, Wuchang Uprising ushered in a new chapter for Chinese history. But under the republic surface, the ordeal for Chinese people was still ongoing. Yuan Shikai usurped the presidency and intended to reinstall a monarchy. Protests across the country ended his drama.
